CHAPTER 604
(Senate Bill 450)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 98B (5a)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supple-
ment), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates
System," to provide that the term of the substitute judge of the
People's Court of Anne Arundel County shall expire on the first
Monday in May, 1971.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 98B (5a) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial
Magistrates System," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

98B (5a).

(a)   In addition to the full-time People's Court judges, there shall
be one (1) substitute People's Court judge who shall have the same
qualifications, be appointed in the same manner, have the same power
and authority, and be subject to the same duties and responsibilities
as the full-time judge for whom he may be sitting.

(b)   The term of the substitute judge shall expire on ([December
31, 1969] the first Monday in May, 1971, and during his said term,
he shall not practice before the People's Court of Anne Arundel
County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 605

(Senate Bill 453)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 406 of
Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement),
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments," sub-
title "37. Ocean City Convention Hall Commission," to provide
that the rental from the Ocean City Convention Hall continue to
be paid to the Board of Public Works after any bond indebtedness
is satisfied.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 406 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Supplement), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments," subtitle "37. Ocean City Convention Hall Commis-
sion," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
