hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as fol-
lows:

108.

(17) There shall be one trial magistrate who shall sit at Centre-
ville and who shall receive an annual salary of [$1,200.00]
$4,500.00. The clerk of the trial magistrate shall issue writs at the
direction of said magistrate and shall accept bail after the amount
of said bail has been set.

119.

(a) In addition to the justices of the peace and justices of the
peace at large hereinbefore specified, the Governor, by and with the
advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint one justice of the
peace at large for each county of the State, except Anne Arundel,
Cecil, Dorchester, Montgomery, Prince George's, Kent, Charles and
Washington counties, who shall be designated as "substitute trial
magistrate." Such magistrate shall post the bond required of trial
magistrates and shall receive a salary of $100.00 per year, except
there shall be five substitute magistrates appointed for Baltimore
County, each of whom shall receive $2,000.00 per year in addition to
the compensation received when actually sitting as a substitute as
hereinafter provided, and except the substitute magistrate appointed
for Somerset County, who shall receive one thousand dollars ($1,000)
per year in addition to the compensation received when actually sit-
ting as a substitute, as hereinafter provided. In Queen Anne's
County, the substitute magistrate shall receive an annual salary of
$1,500.00.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
May 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 550
(House Bill 1474)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners of
Charles County to borrow upon the faith and credit of said
County an aggregate amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00)
and to issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of aiding in the
construction of facilities at the Charles County Community Col-
lege, and providing for the levy of taxes in Charles County for the
payment of principal and interest on such bonds.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Charles County be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to borrow upon the faith and
credit of said county such loan to be known as the "Charles County
Community College Loan of 1969," in the aggregate sum of One
Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00), and to issue and sell bonds therefor,
the proceeds thereof to be used for the purpose of aiding in the
construction of facilities at the Charles County Community College,
