CHAPTER 480
(Senate Bill 743)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 53 of
Article 66 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1968 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Mortgages," subtitle "Secondary Mortgage
Loan Law," to increase the charge for examination of secondary
mortgage licensees.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 53 of Article 66 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Mortgages," subtitle "Secondary
Mortgage Loan Law," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

53.

The Commissioner shall conduct an investigation of the business
of every licensee at least once every two years and in addition, at
any other time at his discretion or whenever there is reasonable
cause to believe that any licensee, or any other person, has violated
any of the provisions of this subtitle, or of any rules or regulations
promulgated pursuant thereto, he shall have the power to make such
investigations as may be necessary, and to examine the books, ac-
counts, records and files of such licensee or any other such person
believed to have violated this subtitle or any rules or regulations
promulgated pursuant thereto. To cover the costs of every such an
examination or investigation he shall be paid a per diem fee of not
more than [twenty-five dollars ($25.00)] fifty dollars ($50.00) for
each of the examining or investigating personnel so engaged.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement
Volume), title "Banks and Trust Companies," subtitle "Credit
Unions," to increase the charges for examination of credit unions,
and correcting an error therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 142 of Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Banks and Trust Companies,"
subtitle "Credit Unions," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
