MARYLAND (1966 REPLACEMENT VOLUME AND 1968
SUPPLEMENT), TITLE "COURTS," SUBTITLE "JUVENILE
CAUSES" to repeal Sections 51 52 through 68 66, inclusive, of
Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement
Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Courts," subtitle "Juvenile
Causes," and
AND SECTION 68 OF SAID ARTICLE, TITLE
AND SUBTITLE; to add new Sections 70 through 70-26, inclusive,
to said Article, title and subtitle of the Code, to follow immediately
after Section 69 thereof; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments
Section 130 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement
Volume), title
"Courts," OF SAID ARTICLE AND TITLE, sub-
title "Court of Special Appeals"; and to add new Section 594A to
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement
Volume), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Procedure,"
generally revising the laws on Juvenile Causes, providing for
appeals of Juvenile Causes cases to the Court of Special Appeals;
authorizing a criminal court to waive jurisdiction of children to
juvenile court; and matters generally related thereto.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL AS-
SEMBLY OF MARYLAND, THAT SECTION 51 OF ARTICLE
26 OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1966 RE-
PLACEMENT VOLUME AND 1968 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE
"COURTS," SUBTITLE "JUVENILE CAUSES," BE AND IT
IS HEREBY REPEALED AND RE-ENACTED, WITH AMEND-
MENTS, TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

51.

(A)    THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR EACH COUNTY SHALL
HAVE JURISDICTION IN JUVENILE CAUSES, AS HERE-
INAFTER DEFINED. WHEN SO ENGAGED, IT SHALL BE

KNOWN AS "THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR ................................

COUNTY, SITTING AS A JUVENILE COURT." IN ADDI-
TION TO THE JURISDICTION NOW POSSESSED AND EX-
ERCISED BY THE CIRCUIT COURT OF BALTIMORE CITY,
SAID COURT SHALL HAVE JURISDICTION IN JUVENILE
CAUSES AS HEREINAFTER DEFINED, AND A DIVISION
OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF BALTIMORE CITY EXERCIS-
ING THIS JURISDICTION SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE DI-
VISION FOR JUVENILE CAUSES OF SAID COURT. THE
SUPREME BENCH OF BALTIMORE CITY SHALL ASSIGN
A JUDGE OR JUDGES OF SAID BENCH TO EXERCISE
SUCH JURISDICTION.

(B)    AS USED IN THIS SUBTITLE, "COURT" MEANS THE
CIRCUIT COURT OF THE COUNTY SITTING FOR JUVE-
NILE CAUSES.

Section 1. Be it 2. AND BE IT FURTHER enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 51 52 through 68 66, inclu-
sive, AND SECTION 68 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1966 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title
"Courts," subtitle "Juvenile Causes," be and they are hereby re-
pealed, and that new Sections 70 through 70-26, inclusive, be and
they are hereby added, to said Article, title and subtitle of the Code
to follow immediately after Section 69 thereof; and to read as follows:
