It shall be unlawful for anyone to break a seal applied by an
inspector to a pump or meter without first securing consent of the
Comptroller of the Treasury, which consent may be given through
one of the duly authorised inspectors.
(b) The Comptroller of the Treasury is authorised to calibrate
any truck, tank wagon, tractor trailor, motor vessel, barge, tank,
barrel, can or other container with or without metering devices used
for marketing gasoline and special fuels at wholesale or retail.
(c) Whenever the Comptroller of the Treasury shall find any per-
son willfully marketing gasoline and special fuel products in this
State which are regulated by this Article and which do not comply
with the prescribed minimum meter, pump and tank calibration
tolerances therefore or otherwise willfully marketing petroleum prod-
ucts in violation of this Article and rules and regulations promul-
gated pursuant hereto, he shall direct them to cease such violation.
If, after such direction the violation continues, the Comptroller shall
refer the matter to the Attorney General who shall be authorized to
apply to the circuit court having jurisdiction over the offenders for
an injunction against the continuance of any such violations. The
appropriate circuit court shall have jurisdiction, upon hearing and
for cause shown, to grant such temporary or permanent injunction
restraining further violations as the circumstances appear to require.
157J. Advertising Price of Gasoline and Special Fuels.
Any person selling at retail gasoline or special fuels as defined in
this Act, shall at all times display signs as herein defined:
(a) All pumps and dispensing equipment for gasoline or special
fuels shall be marked conspicuously to show the price per gallon of
gasoline or special fuels offered for sale, inclusive of taxes, in figures
of equal size and where fractional cents or figures are used therein,
the combined height and width of the numerator and denominator
shall be equal to the height and width of the other figures used.
(b) Any sign or placard or other means used on the premises of
any retail outlet and the approaches thereto advertising the price
of gasoline or special fuels for sale at retail for use in motor vehicles
may contain a separate listing of the price and a separate listing of
each tax thereon, but must contain a total of such price and taxes
