CHAPTER 491
(Senate Bill 19)

AN ACT to add new subsection to Section 357A of Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1966
Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Forests and
Parks," subheading "In General," said new subsection to be known
as subsection (c), and to follow immediately after subsection (b)
thereof, establishing a program whereby the State of Maryland
will assist in the acquisition costs for preservation of open spaces
and areas.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new subsection be and it is hereby added to Section 357A of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1966 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Forests and
Parks," subheading "In General," said new subsection to be known
as subsection (c), to follow immediately after subsection (b) thereof,
and to read as follows:

357A.

(c) If any county or city, or the Maryland-National Capital
Park and Planning Commission, purchases such open spaces and
areas under the Outdoor Recreation Land Loan of 1968, as may be
amended from time to time, the State through the Board of
Public Works, shall make provision for paying a portion of such
purchase costs if the acquisition and costs have been approved by
the Department of Forests and Parks and the acquisition complies
with the provisions of the Outdoor Recreation Land Loan of 1968.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000), and the proceeds
thereof to be used exclusively for the purpose of assisting
the counties, municipalities, or any special governmental agency
charged with providing outdoor recreation and open space areas
in this State, on a matching basis to provide for the non-Federal
