846 LAWS OF MARYLAND CH. 463
526.
Any person who engages in the practice of architecture in this
State without being licensed under this subtitle is guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not more than $3,000.00
or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both, for each violation.
527.
If any clause, sentence, part or parts of this subtitle, or of any
section thereof, is held unconstitutional, the unconstitutionality shall
not affect the validity of the remaining parts of this subtitle or of
any section thereof. The legislature hereby declares that it would
have passed the remaining parts of this subtitle or any section if it
had known the clause, sentence, part or parts, or any section thereof
would be declared unconstitutional.
528.
All acts or parts of acts of any public general or public local laws
inconsistent with the provisions of this subtitle are hereby repealed
to the extent of such inconsistency, provided that nothing therein
contained shall be taken as restricting any powers which the De-
partment of Public Improvement, the State Board of Health, the
Department of Geology, Mines and Water Resources and the State
Roads Commission of Maryland now may exercise.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Maryland Architec-
tural Registration Board herein referred to is a continuation of the
Board of Examiners and Registration of Architects heretofore con-
stituted and functioning. Members of the former Board shall be
continued as members of the new board for the respective periods
remaining in their terms on the effective date of this Act. All funds,
credits, appropriations, records, furniture and fixtures, and other
properties in the custody or ownership of the Board of Examiners
and Registration of Architects shall vest in and be within the custody
or ownership of the Maryland Architectural Registration Board
here created. All references to the Board of Examiners and Regis-
tration of Architects in the books, papers, accounts, laws, and regu-
lations of this State and of any agency of this State, and of any
political subdivision of this State, are changed to, and hereafter
shall be references to the Maryland Architectural Registration Board
here created. It is the intent of this Act that the continuity of the
two Boards not be interrupted and that except as in this Act specifi-
cally provided otherwise, the work, functions, powers, duties, and
membership of the former Board of Examiners and Registration of
Architects shall be continued in the Maryland Architectural Regis-
tration Board.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
Approved May 7, 1968.
