Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 126(a) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "The
Executive Department," subtitle "Department of Parole and Proba-
tion" be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

126.

(a) Whenever the circuit court of any county, the Criminal
Court of Baltimore City, [or] the People's Court of Anne Arundel
County or the Magistrate's Court of Baltimore County shall suspend
the sentence of any person convicted of crime, and shall direct such
person to continue, for a certain time, or until otherwise ordered,
under the supervision of the Board of Parole and Probation, it shall
be the duty of the said Board to supervise, when so requested by
said court, the conduct of such person and to ascertain and report
to said court whether or not the conditions of such probation or
suspension of sentence are being faithfully complied with by such
person.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 514)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 117 (c)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County being
Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1959
Edition and 1962 Supplement), title "Charles County," subtitle
"Fire Companies," as last amended by Chapter 693 Section 120 of
the Acts of 1965; to provide for an additional member of the
Charles County Board of Fire and Rescue Commissioners to be
appointed by the Charles County Volunteer Rescue Squad Associa-
tion and to provide for such additional member's initial term on
such Board.

after be paid by the County Commissioners semi-annually June 30
and December 31 of each year, commencing December 31, 1965,
