(House Bill 1103)

AN ACT to add new Section 712(b) (6-1) to Article 66C of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1967
Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and
Clams," to follow immediately after Section 712(b) (6) thereof
to prohibit the taking of hard-shell clams in Worcester County
within a certain distance from shore or wharves.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 712(b) (6-1) be and it is hereby added to Article
66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume
and 1967 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters
and Clams," to follow immediately after Section 712(b) (6) thereof
and to read as follows:

712 (b).

(6-1) No person shall take hard-shell clams with a hand-scrape,
or shinnecock rake or with a hydraulic dredge in the waters of
Worcester County within one hundred yards of shore or any wharf,
except that the restriction shall not apply to the taking of clams by
the owner of such shore or wharf or with his permission.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 369
(House Bill 1104)

AN ACT to add new Section 712(d-1) to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Re-
sources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to follow immediately after
Section 712(d) thereof and to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, Section 712(e) of said Article, title and subtitle of said
Code, to provide for the use and regulation of hydraulic clam
dredges and requiring all hard shell clams taken in Maryland to
be landed in the State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 712 (d-1) be and it is hereby added to Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to follow
immediately after Section 712(d) thereof, and that Section 712
(e) of said Article, title and subtitle of said Code, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and all to read as follows:

712.

(d-1) All hard shell clams taken or caught in Maryland waters
shall be landed in Maryland.
