Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 297
(House Bill 769)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 19(f-2) (4)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Supple-
ment) , title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Beer, Wine and Liquor
Licenses," to remove a discount allowance on the purchase of
beverages from the Harford County liquor control board by res-
taurants and hotels in the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 19(f-2)(4) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1967 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle
"Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

19(f-2).

(4) Provided that such restaurant or hotels may purchase such
liquor or spirituous beverages sold by them from the Harford County
liquor control board, and shall be charged therefor the retail price of
the liquor control board [less a discount of twenty per centum
(20%)]. But such restaurant or hotel may purchase liquor or spiritu-
ous beverages from other licensed suppliers. This subsection shall not
be construed to limit the powers of the liquor control board to control
the number of licensees under Section 42 and Section 184 of this
article, and provided further, that this subsection shall not contravene
the provisions of Sections 56, 57 and 99 of this article, as said several
sections may be amended from time to time.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
