CHAPTER 274
(House Bill 667)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 237 (b)
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "State De-
partment of Assessments and Taxation," to allow Class F counties
to appoint assistant supervisors of assessments and to delete an
obsolete reference to Class H counties in this section.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 237 (b) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Revenue and Taxes," sub-
title "State Department of Assessments and Taxation," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(b) The position of assistant supervisor shall not be set up in
Class [F,] G [and H] counties (following the classification of coun-
ties in Section 236 of this article).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 16 of
Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration—
Registration—Titling," to provide for when records of drivers with
prior suspensions or revocations may be destroyed.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 16 of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Ad-
ministration—Registration—Titling," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows :

The Commissioner may microfilm any records of the Department
at any time he deems proper or destroy any records of the Depart-
ment, which have been maintained on file for three (3) years, which
he may deem obsolete and of no further service in carrying out
the powers and duties of the Department except records of criminal
and motor vehicle violations which show refusal, or revocation of
license and/or registration as a result of a conviction under the pro-
visions of Section 104(a) of this article, showing mandatory re-
