(House Bill 98)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 249 (b)
of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "State Roads," subtitle
"Highway Beautification," subheading "Junk Yards," amend-
ing the public highway laws in order to correct an erroneous
reference therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 249(b) of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "State
Roads," subtitle "Highway Beautification," subheading "Junk
Yards," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

249.

(b) If any clause, section, or provision of this [subtitle] sub-
heading shall be held unconstitutional or invalid, such determination
shall not be held to affect any other clause, section, or provision
hereof.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 116 of
Article 83 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Sales and Notices,"
subtitle "Unfair Cigarette Sales Act," amending the laws pertain-
ing to sales and notices in order to correct erroneous wording
therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 116 of Article 83 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Sales and
Notices," subtitle "Unfair Cigarette Sales Act," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

116.

No retailer or wholesaler, with intent to injure a competitor or
competitors, or with intent to destroy or substantially lessen com-
petition shall sell at retail or wholesale cigarettes at less than cost of
the retailer or wholesaler, as the case may be, and no retailer shall
purchase from a wholesaler, cigarettes at less than cost of the
wholesaler, either directly or indirectly by any means or [devise]
