1957. Those persons who are members of the Board of Education
for Talbot County immediately prior to June 1, 1957, shall be in-
cluded among the appointees as provided in this section for a period
of years respectively equal to the unexpired portions of the terms
they are then serving. As of the first Monday in May in each year
after 1957, the Governor shall appoint a person or persons to fill the
vacancies (terms) then expired. Except as in this section specified
the provisions of Section 6(c) hereinabove shall continue to apply
to the Board of Education of Talbot County.
No member of said Board of Education shall receive compensation
for his services, but shall receive $300.00 annually for travel and
shall receive $25.00 per each meeting attended on behalf of the
county for other expenses.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 248)
AN ACT to add new Section 108A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Cecil County (1961 Edition, being Article 8 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Cecil County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section 108
thereof, providing for the County Commissioners of Cecil County
to establish a Housing Code and to provide for its enforcement
and relating generally to housing in Cecil County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 108A be and it is added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Cecil County (1961 Edition, being Article 8 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Cecil County," sub-
title "County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section
108 thereof, and to read as follows:
108 A.
The County Commissioners shall adopt a Housing Code, which
Code shall stipulate minimum housing standards in order to make
dwellings fit for human habitation. The Code shall be administered
by the Cecil County Health Department.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
