Each applicant for a license to take or catch crabs under the provi-
sions of Section 822 of this Article shall complete an application form
for same, showing his or her full name, social security number, age,
and residence, and shall make oath or affirmation before the clerk
of the circuit court of the county or a notary public in and for said
county that the facts which he shall set forth in completing the
application form are true, and that he will submit to the Department
of Chesapeake Bay Affairs all catch records or other information
required by regulation of that agency. Upon receipt of the required
fee or fees, the clerk of the circuit court shall return to the applicant
a duplicate copy of the application, which shall serve as a temporary
license to take or catch crabs for a period of fifteen (15) days. The
clerk of the circuit court shall, within forty-eight (48) hours from
the issuance of the temporary license, forward the original copy of
the application to the Department of Chesapeake Bay Affairs, which
agency shall transmit to the applicant, via first-class mail, a license
to take or catch crabs under the provisions of Section 822 of this
Article. The clerk of the circuit court shall forward fees received
from applicants monthly to the Department of Chesapeake Bay
Affairs, for deposit to the credit of the
FISHERIES Research and
Development Fund.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 180
(House Bill 39)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section 242 of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement
Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Fish and Fisheries,"
subheading "General Provisions," to provide that all fines and
forfeitures levied under the fin fish laws shall be deposited to the
credit of the Fisheries Research and Development Fund, and to
repeal the reward granted to informers initiating proceedings
resulting in the collection of these fines or forfeitures.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 242 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Fish and Fisheries," subheading "General Provisions," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

242.

All fines imposed under this subtitle, and the proceeds of sale of
any property forfeited as aforesaid, after paying the expense of
seizure, condemnation and sale, shall be paid to the justice or clerk
of the court to be remitted to the Comptroller for credit to the [Con-
servation Fund. Except that in all cases where such prosecutions
