of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources,"
subtitle "Oysters and Clams," be and they are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
712.
(c) Every clam dealer shall pay a special tax of [five] ten cents
[(5¢)] (10¢ per [thousand or fractional part thereof] bushel EACH
BAG OF NOT MORE THAN 105 HARD SHELL CLAMS on all
clams sold or marketed by him, and shall remit said tax weekly to
the Department of [Tidewater Fisheries or to a local officer repre-
senting said Department] Chesapeake Bay Affairs.
(d) All monies received by the Department of [Tidewater
Fisheries] Chesapeake Bay Affairs for licenses, fees, or taxes shall be
transmitted by said Department to the State Comptroller for deposit
to the credit of the [Oyster Fund] Fisheries Research and Develop-
ment Fund.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 36)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 700(a),
(c), (d), (e), (f), and (h) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Re-
sources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," amending the law as it
applies to oyster tonger's licensing in the State of Maryland and
the disposition of the fees collected from such licenses.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 700(a), (c), (d), (e), (f), and (h) of Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title
"Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
700.
(a) Any person over the age of fourteen who shall engage in the
taking or catching of oysters by tongs or patent tongs from any
natural oyster bar of this State, [except in the waters of Worcester
County,] or who shall be employed on any tong boat shall first obtain
a license as prescribed herein [, provided, however, that no license
shall be required for the taking or catching of oysters from the
waters of Worcester County. In order to take or catch oysters in the
waters of Wicomico County or Dorchester County, a person who is
sixty-five years of age or over must have resided within the limits of
Wicomico County or Dorchester County for not less than six months
immediately preceding the first day of the tonging season. In order
to take or catch oysters in the waters of Talbot County, a person who
is sixty-five years of age or over must have resided within the limits
