financing of projects for dredging and marking of channels and
harbors in navigable waters and the responsibility of the Water-
ways Improvement Fund and the political subdivisions for such
financing.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 12G (a) and (b) of Article 14B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1967 Supplement), title "State Boat Act," be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
12G.
(a) Projects for dredging and marking of channels and harbors,
and clearing of debris, aquatic vegetation, and obstructions in navi-
gable waters shall be financed solely by the Waterways Improvement
Fund. Provided, however, that any funds available from the federal
government, any governing body, or any gift or donation, may be
used for such purposes.
(b) Projects for [dredging of channels and harbors, and] con-
struction of marine facilities beneficial to the boating public shall
be financed jointly by the governing body and the Waterways Im-
provement Fund; excepting only such projects and facilities as are
located within or serve directly state parks, which may be financed
jointly by the Department of Forests and Parks and the Waterways
Improvement Fund. The contribution of the Waterways Improve-
ment Fund shall be limited to not more than fifty per centum (50%)
of the cost of each project.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 236 (d)
and 237(e) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "State
Department of Assessments and Taxation," making special pro-
visions for the payment of the salaries of supervisors of assess-
ments, assistant supervisors of assessments and assessors in St.
Mary's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 236(d) and 237(e) of Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1967 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes,"
