(1966 Replacement Volume), title "Court," subtitle "Salaries of
Judges," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
48.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this subtitle and in ad-
dition to any other annual salary, payment, or supplementation
thereof, the County Commissioners of Washington County are hereby
authorized and directed to pay to each of the several resident judges
of the Circuit Court for Washington County two thousand five hun-
dred dollars ($2,500.00) annually [.]; the County Commissioners of
Allegany County shall pay to each of the resident judges of the
Circuit Court for Allegany County the sum of two thousand five
hundred dollars ($2,500.) annually; and the County Commissioners
of Garrett County shall pay to each resident judge of the Circuit
Court for Garrett County the sum of two thousand five hundred
dollars ($2,500.) annually; AND THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF HOWARD COUNTY SHALL PAY TO EACH RESIDENT
JUDGE OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF HOWARD COUNTY THE
SUM OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) ANNUALLY.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 588 of
the Charter of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition,
being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Baltimore City," subtitle "Police Commissioners," subheading
"Special Funds," as said Section was last amended by Chapter 445
of the Acts of 1963, increasing the pension payable to the widows
of certain members of the Police Department of Baltimore City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 588 of the Charter of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore City," subtitle "Police Com-
missioner," subheading "Special Funds," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, as said Section was last amended
by Chapter 445 of the Acts of 1963, and to read as follows:

Members of the Police Department of Baltimore City who may be
appointed after June 1, 1939, and become members of the Special
Fund, may participate in the benefits of the Special Fund for Widows,
provided eligibility to do so is established within thirty (30) days
after appointment and not otherwise.
