Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108(16) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume and 1967 Cumulative Supplement),
title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates System,"
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:

108. Number and salaries.

(16) Prince George's County. (a) There shall be [two] three

(3) full time judges of the People's Court of Prince George's County,

each of whom shall receive a salary of [$18,000.00] Twenty-one

thousand dollars ($21,000.00) per year. THE CHIEF JUDGE
SHALL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL SUM OF $1,000 PER
ANNUM OVER AND ABOVE HIS REGULAR SALARY FOR
HIS SERVICES AS CHIEF JUDGE.

(16) PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.—(A) THE FULL-TIME
JUDGES OF THE PEOPLE'S COURT OF PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY SHALL EACH RECEIVE A SALARY OF TWENTY-
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($21,000.00) PER YEAR.

(b)   The judges of the People's Court of Prince George's County
shall make a circuit, sitting in Marlboro, Hyattsville, Laurel and
such other places as the judges of the People's Court shall deem
necessary [and at which adequate facilities are provided by the
County Commissioners of Prince George's County] and the County

Commissioners of Prince George's County shall provide adequate

facilities as often and for such periods of time as may be required
by the work of the court.

(c)   The judges of the People's Court of Prince George's County
shall arrange their dockets in such manner that a separate day or
days, or part of a day of each week, in each court of the circuit,
shall be devoted exclusively to the hearing of civil cases, criminal
cases and traffic cases arising under Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended from time to time),
respectively, as the volume and kind of cases may from time to
time require.

(d)   The Sheriff of Prince George's County is hereby authorized,
directed and required to serve all civil process issued by said judges.
The Sheriff shall be reimbursed by the County Commissioners for his
expenses incurred in serving process.

a chief clerk. Such clerks shall keep all dockets of and supervise

and manage the office of said court. Notwithstanding any other

provision of law, the dockets and records of arrest and convictions

in traffic violations, and all other traffic records, shall be kept by

the clerks in such form and under such plan as may jointly be agreed
upon by the judges of the People's Court and the Department of

Motor Vehicles. Each clerk shall make proper report at periodic

intervals of all traffic convictions to the Department of Motor
Vehicles in accordance with such agreed plan, and, together there-

with, shall make remittance of all revenues due the State of Mary-

land from traffic violation fines and costs to the Department of
