of lands and subdivisions thereof, and shall include plotting topog-
raphy and contours; but shall not include the determining drainage
of streets and roads and providing for storm drainage systems.
12. (a)
(3) A specific record of at least twelve years of lawful practice
in engineering work of a character satisfactory to the Board and
indicating that the applicant may be competent to practice engineer-
ing; provided, however, that the evidence of such practice presented
by the applicant is satisfactory to the Board, and that the applicant
successfully completes an eight-hour written examination in the
principles and practice of [engineerings] engineering. Where the
evidence presented in and with the application does not appear to
the Board to warrant the admission to the examination, the appli-
cant may be required to present further evidence for the considera-
tion of the Board. The Board may, at its discretion, waive the exami-
nation if, in its judgment, the applicant is generally recognized
within the field of engineering as being outstanding.

(b) The work of an employee or a subordinate of a person holding
a certificate of registration under this article, or an employee of a
person practicing lawfully under this section; provided such work
is done under the direct responsibility and supervision of a person
holding a certificate of registration under this article [of] or a
person practicing lawfully under this section; or
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to add new Section 224A to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Licenses,"
subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," to follow immediately after Section
224 thereof and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
225 (a) of said title and subtitle of said Article of said Code to
authorize the appointment of a Real Estate Hearing Board and
to provide for certain duties and powers of this Board.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 224A be and it is hereby added to Article 56 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Licenses," subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," to follow immediately
after Section 224 thereof, and to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, Section 225 (a) of said title and subtitle of said Article of
said Code and all to read as follows:
