AN ACT to add new Section 47(c-4) (F) to Article 26 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and
1967 Supplement), title "Courts", subtitle "Salaries of Judges",
to follow immediately after Section 47(c-4) (E) thereof, to
provide that the County Commissioners of Carroll County may
supplement the salaries of certain judges in their discretion.
AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE CARROLL COUNTY COM-
MISSIONERS TO SUPPLEMENT THE SALARY OF JUDGES
RESIDENT IN THE COUNTY AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE
PAYMENT OF THE SALARY AND SUPPLEMENTATION
FOR SUCH JUDGES.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 47(c-4) (F) be and it is hereby added to Article
26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume
and 1967 Supplement), title "Courts", subtitle "Salaries of Judges",
to follow immediately after Section 47(c-4) (E) thereof, and to
read as follows:
47(c-4) (F).
The County Commissioners of Carroll County may provide supple-
mentation for the salaries of the judges of the fifth judicial circuit
who are resident in Carroll County in such amount as the County
Commissioners may determine.
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CARROLL COUNTY
ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO PROVIDE
SUPPLEMENTATION FOR THE SALARIES OF THE JUDGES
OF THE FIFTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT WHO ARE RESIDENT IN
THE COUNTY IN THE SUM OF TWENTY-FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($2,500) ANNUALLY, AND THEY MAY PROVIDE
SUCH OTHER AMOUNT IN ADDITION THERETO AS THE
COMMISSIONERS MAY DETERMINE. ANY PAYMENT TO BE
MADE UNDER SUBSECTION (C-l) OF THIS SECTION BY THE
COMPTROLLER TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CAR-
ROLL COUNTY, INSTEAD OF BEING PAID TO THE COMMIS-
SIONERS, SHALL BE PAID DIRECTLY TO THE JUDGE OR
JUDGES RESIDENT IN THE COUNTY.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
