(House Bill 671)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 158 (k)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Supple-
ment), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Boards of License
Commissioners," relating to the number and residents RESI-
DENCE of the inspectors in Prince George's County and the
manner of appointment of and the term of the Chief Inspector.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 158 (k) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1966 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle
"Boards of License Commissioners," be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
158.
(k) Prince George's County.—The inspectors appointed for Prince
George's County shall each have all the powers of a peace officer or a
constable or sheriff of the State of Maryland, and shall make oath
to faithfully perform the duties entrusted to them, as provided in
Article 1, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Maryland,
and they shall furnish bond in the penalty of $2,000.00 to the board
of license commissioners of Prince George's County and the Board
of County Commissioners of Prince George's County jointly, condi-
tioned that they shall well and faithfully execute their office in
all things appertaining, thereto. The cost of said bond shall be paid
by the County Commissioners of Prince George's County. The in-
spectors of Prince George's County, shall be known as "alcoholic
beverage inspectors for Prince George's County." The inspectors
shall have the duty of visiting and inspecting every licensed premises
in Prince George's County periodically and carrying on such other
duties as the board of license commissioners of Prince George's
County might prescribe. The Board of County Commissioners for
Prince George's County shall appoint all such inspectors. There
shall be three full-time and nine part-time inspectors ALL OF WHOM
SHALL BE RESIDENTS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY,
MARYLAND. One full timo and three part time inspectors shall
resido in each of the three legislative subdistricts of Prince George's
County- as set forth in Article 40 of- Section 46B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland. The Board of County Commissioners for Prince
George's County shall designate annually a Chief Inspector from
among the three full-time inspectors, who shall not be entitled to
succeed himself for two years. The Chief Inspector, under the direc-
tion of the Board of License Commissioners, shall regulate the duties,
hours, and assignments of the various inspectors.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

over the veto at the Special Session of June 22, 1967.
