HE CUSTOMARILY AND REGULARLY RECEIVES MORE
THAN $20 PER MONTH IN TIPS.
83.
Except as may be provided pursuant to this subtitle, every em-
ployer shall pay to each of his employees wages at a rate of not
less than [$1.00] $1.25 an hour.
(a) EVERY EMPLOYER SHALL PAY TO EACH OF HIS
EMPLOYEES, EXCEPT AS MAY BE PROVIDED PURSUANT
TO THIS SUBTITLE, WAGES AT THE FOLLOWING RATES:
(1) IF SUCH EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO THE
PROVISIONS OF THE MARYLAND WAGE AND HOUR LAW,
AND SECTION 83 OF ARTICLE 100 OF THE ANNOTATED
CODE OF MARYLAND PRIOR TO JUNE 1, 1967, THEY SHALL
RECEIVE A WAGE OF NOT LESS THAN $1.15 AN HOUR FROM
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT BEGINNING FEBRU-
ARY 1, 1968, AND NOT LESS THAN $1.30 AN HOUR BEGIN-
NING JUNE 1, 1968 FEBRUARY 1, 1969.
(2) ALL EMPLOYEES AS MAY BE SUBJECT TO THE PRO-
VISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE EXCEPT THOSE AS ARE IN-
CLUDED UNDER SECTION 83(1) OF ARTICLE 100 OF THE
ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND SHALL RECEIVE A
WAGE OF NOT LESS THAN $1.00 AN HOUR FROM THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT, NOT LESS THAN $1.15 AN
HOUR BEGINNING JUNE 1, 1968, AND NOT LESS THAN $1.30
AN HOUR BEGINNING JUNE 1, 1969.

NOTHING IN THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE DEEMED TO
IN ANY WAY DIMINISH THE RIGHT OF ANY EMPLOYEE
AS MAY BE GRANTED PURSUANT TO THE FEDERAL FAIR
LABOR STANDARDS ACT.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
