called "account books," to be provided and preserved by him, of all
contributions, money or valuable things received by or promised to,
and of all expenditures, disbursements and promises of payment or
disbursements of money or valuable things made by any political
committee, or any of its officers or members, or by any person acting
under its authority, or on its behalf or by such treasurer or sub-
treasurer, and setting forth in such statement and accounts the sum
or valuable thing so received, or disbursed, or promised, as the case
may be, and the date when, the name of the person and his address
from whom received or promised, or to whom paid or promised, as the
case may be, and the object and purposes for which the sum, or
other valuable thing, was received, or disbursed, or promised, as the
case may be. Such books and records may be destroyed or discarded
at any time after one year from the date of election unless a court
of competent jurisdiction shall order their retention for a longer
period.

(b) (1) The following "campaign contribution receipt" shall
be issued by the treasurer or subtreasurer to each person or treasurer
of a committee or group or organization of persons making a con-
tribution of ten dollars ($10.00) or more, or upon request for any
lesser amount, to the candidate, political committee, or State or local
central committee of which he is treasurer or subtreasurer:

(2)    If such contribution is received by a subtreasurer, he shall
forward the duplicate copy of the "campaign contribution receipt"
with his report to the treasurer of the candidate, political committee,
or State or local central committee for which he is subtreasurer, as
required by Secs. 26-14 and 26-15 of this Article.

(3)    The treasurer shall retain all "campaign contribution re-
ceipts" with his books and records as required by subsection (a) of
this section and report the information therein in the statement of
contributions and expenditures required by Secs. 26-14 and 26-15
of this Article.
