The County Commissioners of Kent County are authorized to ex-
pend each year not more than two thousand five hundred dollars
($2,500.00) towards an insurance policy providing benefits for mem-
bers of volunteer fire companies and rescue squad in the County who
are injured or killed in the line of duty.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1967.

(House Bill 1140)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 123 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County (1959 Edition, being
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Kent County," subtitle "County Commissioners," raising the
appropriation paid annually by the County Commissioners of Kent
County to support specified volunteer fire companies in the county.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 123 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County
(1959 Edition, being Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Kent County," subtitle "County Commissioners,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
123.
The County Commissioners of Kent County are hereby authorized
and directed to pay in each and every year, the sum of Three Thou-
sand Five Hundred Dollars [($3,000)] ($3,500.) to the Betterton
Volunteer Fire Company, the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars [($3,000)] ($3,500.) to the Millington Volunteer Fire Com-
pany, the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars [($3,000)]
($3,500.) to the Galena Volunteer Fire Company, the sum of Four
Thousand Five Hundred [($4,000)] ($4,500.) to the Chestertown
Volunteer Fire Company and the sum of Three Thousand Five Hund-
red Dollars [($3,000)] ($3,500.) to the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire
Company and the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
[(3,000)] ($3,500.) to the Kennedyville Volunteer Fire Department
and the said County Commissioners are authorized to levy yearly
upon the assessable property of Kent County a rate of tax sufficient
to produce the sum or sums so to be annually paid to the said fire
companies.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1967.
