CHAPTER 330
(House Bill 928)

AN ACT to add a new Section 136 (e) to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Howard County (1965 Edition, being Article 14 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Howard County,"
subtitle "Fire Protection," to follow immediately after Section
136(d) thereof, to provide authorization of audits, regulation of
books of accounts and bonding of employees of volunteer fire
companies.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 136(e) be and is hereby added to the Code of
of Public Local Laws of Howard County (1965 Edition, being Article
14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Howard
County," subtitle "Fire Protection," to follow immediately after
Section 136 (d) thereof and to read as follows:

136.

(e) The County Commissioners of Howard County are hereby
authorized from time to time to conduct an audit of any or all of the
said volunteer fire companies of Howard County, and to employ or
contract any certified public accountant or certified public account-
ant firm to conduct such audit; the County Commissioners of How-
ard County are hereby further authorized to establish rules and
regulations regulating the method or methods of keeping books of
account in accordance with proper accounting procedures and to
require bonding any member or employee of said volunteer fire com-
pany entrusted with goods or monies or both to an amount desig-
nated by the said Commissioners.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 331
(House Bill 929)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments Section 161P(b)
of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Supple-
ment), title "Corporations," subtitle "Building or Homestead Asso-
ciations," specifically to provide that the Board may authorize a
charter amendment authorizing additional shares of guaranty
stock in an association qualified to issue guaranty stock under the
terms of this section.
