(except in Anne Arundel, Cecil, Montgomery and Prince George's
Counties), shall, before entering upon his duties, give a corporate
bond similarly conditioned, in the amount of $1,000.

The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may by regulation require
the several trial magistrates to give and file such additional bonds
as in his determination shall be advisable or necessary in relation
to the amount of fines, forfeitures, penalties and costs imposed and
collected by them individually in cases involving violations of the
motor vehicle laws. Except as to amount, such additional bonds shall
be subject generally to the terms and conditions applying to the
several bonds as required by this section.

The premiums of all bonds required by this subtitle shall be paid
by the county commissioners or county council.

25G.

From and after June 1, 1967, the judges of the People's Court of
Cecil County shall have criminal jurisdiction in all cases herein-
before conferred upon Trial Magistrates for Cecil County in this sub-
title; and any statutory reference herein to "trial magistrate" shall,
when relating to said county, be interpreted as meaning "judges
of the People's Court of Cecil County."

125D.

Except where inconsistent with any provisions of this Article,
the words "trial magistrate of Cecil County" appearing in this Code
and the public and local laws of this state shall be deemed to mean
"judge of the People's Court of Cecil County."

As of June 1,1967 there shall be a People's Court for Cecil County.
There shall be one judge who shall be elected in the same manner
as Circuit Court judges, by the electorate of Cecil County, for a
fifteen year term. The Governor shall appoint the judge from a list
of qualified persons supplied by the Cecil County Bar Association
to serve until a judge has been duly elected at the congressional
elections of 1968. Whenever a vacancy occurs in this office, the
Governor shall appoint a judge from a qualified list supplied by the
Bar Association of the county to serve until the next congressional
election, when a judge will be elected to serve the remainder of the
unexpired term.

288C.

No person shall be qualified to hold the office of judge of the
People's Court unless he possesses the following qualifications:

(a)    He is at least thirty (30) years of age and less than sixty-
five (65) years of age.

(b)    Is a member of the Bar of the State of Maryland and has
for four (4) years next preceding his appointment or election been
a resident active practicing attorney with his principal office in Cecil
County.

(c)    Is distinguished for integrity, wisdom and sound legal
knowledge.
