CHAPTER 231
(House Bill 330)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 32(a)
and 32(b) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
(1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration-
Registration—Titling," to require all registration plates for motor
vehicles to be reflectorized and
to require only one such plate to be
issued to new and used car dealers, to be attached at rear of the
vehicle.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 32(a) and 32(b) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Administration—Registration—Titling," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

32.

(a) The Department upon registering a motor vehicle shall issue
to the owner one registration plate for a motorcycle, trailer, [or]
semi-trailers, to all new and used car dealers, which shall be at-
tached to the rear of the vehicle,
and two registration plates for
every other motor vehicle. The single plate issued to new and used
car dealers shall be the same, as provided for below, except for color.

New and used car dealers registration plates shall be of a different

and distinct color from those issued to other motor vehicles for easy
identification.

(b) Every registration plate shall be reflectorized in a manner
approved by the Department and shall
have displayed upon it the
registration number assigned to the vehicle for which it is issued,

also the name of this State, which may be abbreviated, and the

period for which it is issued or the date of expiration thereof. The
registration numerals appearing on such registration plates assigned

to such motor vehicles as aforesaid shall not be less than three (3)

inches high and each stroke will be not less than one quarter inch

in width, except vehicles requiring one registration plate only, on
which the registration numerals will be not less than one (1) inch

high and one eighth of an inch in width.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967 APRIL 1, 1968.

of Section 1 (93) of Chapter 780 of the Laws of Maryland, 1959,
(being also Subsection (d) of Section 59-95, Title "Park and Plan-
ning Commission," subtitle "Administrative Tax for Commission,"
Code of Public Local Laws, Prince George's County, 1963 Edition,
