the Department that such policy or bond was in effect at the time of
such accident as required by Section 120(a) of this Article.
WRITTEN NOTICE IN THE FORM SPECIFIED BY THE DE-
PARTMENT THAT SUCH POLICY OR BOND WAS IN EFFECT
AT THE TIME OF SUCH ACCIDENT AS REQUIRED BY SEC-
TION 120(A) OF THIS ARTICLE.

The Department is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to extend the
proposed suspension date twenty days when satisfactory evidence
has been presented that final releases are being negotiated to the
satisfaction of all parties.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 222
(House Bill 269)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 61 (a)
and (b) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966
Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration—
Registration—Titling;" to repeal Section 61 (c) of the said Article
and subtitle of the Code, and to enact new Sections 61 (c) and (d)
in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section repealed; to
generally revise the laws licensing and regulating motor vehicle
dealers and salesmen, including motorcycle dealers, boat trailer
and trailer dealers and trailer salesmen, to provide for replace-
ment of such licenses, to specify grounds for refusal, suspension
or revocation of licenses and to specify the procedure for refusal,
suspension or revocation of licenses; to establish prohibited acts
for dealers and salesmen, and to provide for the effect of violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 61(a) and (b) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1966 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Administration—Registration—Titling," be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; that Section 61(c) of the
said Article and subtitle of the Code be and it is hereby repealed, and
that new Sections 61 (c) and (d) be and they are hereby enacted in
lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section so repealed, and all to
read as follows:

61.

(a) (1) From and after January 1, 1966, licenses for dealers
[and dealer registration plates] shall be issuable only to dealers as
that term is denned in this article. Licenses for used car dealers
[and used car dealer registration plates] shall be issuable only to
used car dealers as that term is defined in this article. Licenses for
