ditions, as the Board of Trustees may determine. Eligibility shall
not be affected by whether the decedent has paid into the fund.

(c) Exemption from Execution. The benefits provided here-
under shall not be subject to execution, garnishment, attachment
or any other process whatever; and they shall not be subject to
assignment until actually paid over into the hands of the beneficiary.

50.    Administration.

In General. The Fund established under this Article shall be
administered by a Board of Trustees with the advice of a Relief
Fund Committee.

51.    Relief Fund Committee.

(a)    In General. The Relief Fund Committee shall consist of
one (1) Major, elected by the Majors and Lieutenant Colonels of
the Department; a Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant and Patrolman for
each police district of Baltimore City, who shall all be elected by the
officers assigned to said district; a Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant
and Patrolman from each of the following units, elected by the
officers assigned to said unit: Traffic Division (Foot Section), Traf-
fic Division (Motorized), Racket Division, Tactical Section, Bureau
of Aid and Prevention, Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Detective
Bureau, Bureau of Communications, and any other Division, Bureau
or Unit designated by a majority of the Committee; and the Di-
rector of Fiscal Affairs, representing the civilian personnel of the
Department. The members of the Committee shall elect members of
the Board of Trustees, and the Committee shall give such advice and
assistance to the Board of Trustees as the Board may request, or
as the Committee deems appropriate, and shall maintain liaison be-
tween the Board of Trustees and the personnel of the Department.
The functions of the Committee, except for the election of members
of the Board of Trustees, shall be advisory only. The term of each
member of the Committee shall be four years, and members shall
serve until their successors are elected and qualify. Service shall
be without compensation.

(b)    Effect of Reorganization. If a division, bureau, section or
other unit referred to in subsection (a) of this section is abolished,
merged or otherwise affected by a reorganization in which its exist-
ing identity is changed, the members of the Relief Fund Committee
representing such division, bureau, section or other unit shall be
elected from such division, bureau, section or other unit which the
majority of the committee designate as being the nearest equivalent,
and shall be of the same or nearest equivalent rank as prescribed
by subsection (a).

52.    Board of Trustees.

(a) Membership, Election, Tenure. The Board of Trustees shall
consist of the Major member of the Relief Fund Committee, a Captain
member of the Relief Fund Committee, who shall be elected by the
Captains on the said Committee; a Lieutenant member of the Relief
Fund Committee, elected by the Lieutenants on the said Commit-
tee; a Sergeant member of the Relief Fund Committee, elected by
the Sergeants on the said Committee, and two (2) Patrolmen mem-
