dren," be and it is hereby repealed, and that new Section 17A be

In fiscal 1966-67 and thereafter, teachers employed at Maryland
Training School for Boys, Montrose School for Girls, and Boys Village
of Maryland
INSTITUTIONS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE SERVICES by the hiring agency
shall be given a contract which is substantially the same as the
"teacher's contract" or "teacher's contract
provisional" for public
school teachers as specified in bylaws 621:2 and 621:3, as adopted by
the Maryland State Board of Education. The hiring agency

PARTMENT OF JUVENILE SERVICES may suspend or dismiss
without appeal any teacher, under said contracts, on the written
recommendation of a superintendent of a training school
AN INSTI-
TUTION UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE DEPARTMENT
OF JUVENILE SERVICES, for immorality, misconduct in office, in-
subordination, incompetency, or willful neglect of duty, provided that
the charges be stated in writing, and that the teacher be given an op-
portunity to be heard by the hiring agency
DEPARTMENT OF
JUVENILE SERVICES, with counsel, upon not less than ten days'
notice.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 205
(House Bill 154)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 140 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1966 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle
"False Pretenses, Bad Checks, Etc.," to give the People's Court of
Anne Arundel County concurrent jurisdiction with the Circuit
Court of that County to try certain cases involving violations of
the false pretenses and bad check laws, and correcting certain
errors in the law.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 140 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments," subtitle "False Pretenses, Bad Checks, Etc.," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

140.

Any person who shall by any false pretense obtain from any other
person any chattel, money or valuable security, with intent to defraud
