CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS
1965, Ch. 7—State Debt

I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 (c) of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition), Do
Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1966, an Act known as Chapter 7 of the
Acts of 1965, was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT to propose an amendment to Section 3 of Article VI of
the Constitution of Maryland, title "Treasury Department" to
permit bonds, certificates, or other evidences of the debt of the
State to be signed by a Deputy Treasurer and countersigned
by a Deputy Comptroller and providing for the submission of
this amendment to the legally qualified voters of the State for
adoption or rejection.
AND I DO CERTIFY that at said election 292,994 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 7 of the Acts of 1965, and 163,908
votes were cast against adoption of said Chapter 7 of the Acts of
1965, the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name
and affixed my official seal at the City of Annapolis this
9th day of December, 1966.
