(3) For each one cent (1¢) levied on its taxable basis by the
City of Baltimore and by each county for the purpose specified in
subsection (2) of this section, there shall be paid from the State
general fund to the City of Baltimore and to the board of education
of each county levying the same, the difference between two dollars
($2.00) multiplied by the number of pupils enrolled in said counties
or the City of Baltimore and the amount raised in the City of Balti-
more and in each of the counties by the levy of one cent (1¢) as
aforesaid. For each two cents (2¢) levied on its taxable basis by
the City of Baltimore and by each county for the purpose specified
in subsection (2) of this section, there shall be paid from the State
general fund to the City of Baltimore and to the board of education
of each county levying the same, the difference between four dollars
($4.00) multiplied by the number of pupils enrolled in said counties
or the City of Baltimore and the amount raised in the City of Balti-
more and in each of the counties by the levy of two cents (2¢) as
aforesaid. For each three cents (3¢) levied on its taxable basis
by the City of Baltimore and by each county for the purpose
specified in subsection (2) of this section, there shall be paid from
the State general fund to the City of Baltimore and to the board of
education of each county levying the same, the difference between
six dollars ($6.00) multiplied by the number of pupils enrolled in
said counties or the City of Baltimore and the amount raised in the
City of Baltimore and in each of the counties by the levy of three
cents (3¢) as aforesaid. For each four cents (4¢) levied on its
taxable basis by the City of Baltimore and by each county for the
purpose specified in subsection (2) of this section, there shall be
paid from the State general fund to the City of Baltimore and to the
board of education of each county levying the same, the difference
between eight dollars ($8.00) multiplied by the number of pupils
enrolled in said counties or the City of Baltimore and the amount
raised in the City of Baltimore and in each of the counties by the
levy of four cents (4¢) as aforesaid. For each five cents (5¢) levied
on its taxable basis by the City of Baltimore and by each county
for the purpose specified in subsection (2) of this section there shall
be paid from the State general fund to the City of Baltimore and to
the board of education of each county levying the same, the difference
between ten dollars ($10.00) multiplied by the number of pupils
enrolled in said counties or the City of Baltimore and the amount
raised in the City of Baltimore and in each of the counties by the
levy of five cents (5¢) as aforesaid.
(4) In addition to the amounts to be paid to Baltimore City and
to each county as specified in subsection (3) of this section, there
shall be paid from the State general fund to the City of Baltimore
and to the board of education of each county levying a fractional part
of a cent under one, two, three, four or five cents on its taxable
basis for the purpose specified in subsection (2) of this section, an
amount equal to the difference between the same fractional part of
two dollars ($2.00) multiplied by the number of pupils enrolled in
the City of Baltimore or the said counties and the amount raised in
the City of Baltimore and in each of the counties by the additional
levy of the fractional part on one cent (1¢) as aforesaid.
(5) If the county commissioners of each county and the mayor
and city council of Baltimore have levied a minimum of five cents
on each one hundred dollars of their taxable basis for the purpose of
