follow immediately after Section 314(d) thereof, AND TO
REPEAL AND RE-ENACT, WITH AMENDMENTS, SECTION
81 (G) (1) OF ARTICLE 66˝ OF THE ANNOTATED CODE
OF MARYLAND (1966 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE "MOTOR VE-
HICLES," SUBTITLE "ADMINISTRATION—REGISTRATION
—TITLING," to provide for the maximum length of certain ve-
hicle combination using the CERTAIN roads of this State AND
TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR REGISTRATION.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new subsection 314 (e) be and it is hereby added to Article
66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Supplement), title
"Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways,"
to follow immediately after Section 314(d) thereof, and THAT SEC-
TION 81(g) (1) OF ARTICLE 66˝ OF THE ANNOTATED CODE
OF MARYLAND (1966 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE "MOTOR VE-
HICLES," SUBTITLE "ADMINISTRATION—REGISTRATION-
TITLING," BE AND IT IS HEREBY REPEALED AND RE-
ENACTED, WITH AMENDMENTS, AND ALL to read as follows:

314.

(e) The combination of a truck-tractor, semi-trailer and trailer
including the load thereon shall not exceed sixty-five (65) feet in
length inclusive of front and rear bumpers. In this combination of
vehicles, a semi-trailer equipped with an auxiliary dolly shall be
considered a trailer.
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, SUCH VEHICLES
SHALL ONLY BE PERMITTED TO USE THOSE HIGHWAYS
WHICH ARE FOUR OR MORE TRAFFIC LANES IN WIDTH
EXCEPT WHEN SUCH VEHICLES ARE IN TRANSIT BY THE
MOST DIRECT ROUTE BETWEEN THE PERMITTED HIGH-
WAYS AND THE TRUCK TERMINAL OF ORIGIN OR DESTI-
NATION.

81.

(G) (L) (1) REGISTRATION FEES FOR TRUCK TRACTORS, OR
TRACTION ENGINES, OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR MOTOR VE-
HICLES USED FOR PROPELLING, SUPPORTING OR DRAW-
ING TRAILERS OR SEMI-TRAILERS WITH GROSS WEIGHT
LIMITS FOR THE VEHICLE AND LOAD WHEN IN COMBINA-
TION SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:

CLASS MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT FEE

FA                           40,000                           $130.00

FB                           50,000                           $160.00

FC                           65,000                           $245.00

FD                           73,280                           $300.00

FPF                         65,000                           $160.00

VEHICLES WITH TWO OR MORE AXLES MAY BE REG-
ISTERED IN CLASS FA, FB, AND FC. CLASS FD REGISTRA-
TIONS SHALL BE LIMITED TO VEHICLES WITH THREE OR
MORE AXLES, EXCEPT THAT VEHICLES WITH TWO AXLES
MAY BE REGISTERED IN CLASS FD WHEN USED IN A COM-
BINATION OF VEHICLES AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION
314 (E) OF THIS ARTICLE.
