(1) AS USED HEREIN, THE TERM "ANY PROJECT
OWNED OR CONTROLLED BY THE AUTHORITY" SHALL
MEAN AND INCLUDE, WITHOUT INTENDING THEREBY TO
LIMIT THE GENERALITY OF SUCH TERM, ANY CARGO
HANDLING FACILITIES, AS DEFINED IN SECTION 18(B) OF
THIS ARTICLE, WHICH ARE ACQUIRED BY THE AUTHORITY
FROM THE OWNER THEREOF BY PURCHASE OR LEASE,
WHETHER OR NOT SUCH PRIOR OWNER SHALL HAVE THE
RIGHT TO RE-ACQUIRE SUCH CARGO HANDLING FACILI-
TIES, AND ANY EXTENSIONS, ENLARGEMENTS, IMPROVE-
MENTS OR ADDITIONS THERETO, BY PURCHASE, RE-
PURCHASE, OR UPON THE EXPIRATION OF ANY SUCH
LEASE.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 711
(House Bill 23)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 14(7)
of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1966 Supplement), title "Pensions," subtitle "In General";
to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 116(7) of Article
77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 8. Teachers
Certificates, Salaries and Pensions subheadings "Teachers' Retire-
ment System"; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Section 31A of Article 88B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "State Police," subtitle "Pen-
sions," increasing certain supplementary retirement benefits to
State employees, teachers, and the State Police, and providing for
eligibility for such benefits, subject to a reduction for amounts
received from the Federal Old Age and Survivors Insurance system.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 14(7) of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1966 Supplement), title "Pensions," sub-
title "In General," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

14.

(7) The board of trustees is hereby authorized and directed
subject to the annual appropriation of the necessary funds and in
addition to those provided in accordance with and in the same man-
ner as that provided in subsections (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and (6),
of this section, and subject to the conditions hereinafter provided,
to make a supplementary payment to any beneficiary, or member
who may be retired from service in the future, in addition to the
benefits provided in Section 11 of this article, on the following basis:
