ever, that he may not retire within three years after the date of
re-entry in the Retirement System.
Any member who had terminated membership in the Employees'
Retirement System may [upon approval of the board] and upon
deposit into the Teachers' Retirement System of the accumulated
contributions previously withdrawn from the Employees' System,
with interest to date of deposit, receive credit in the Teachers' Sys-
tem for the service that had previously been terminated with the
condition, however, that he may not retire within three years after
the date of entry in the Teachers' Retirement System.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That any person who under
the provisions of this Act, may redeposit the amount of his accumu-
lated contributions and regain previous service credit in either the
Teachers' Retirement System or the Employees' Retirement System,
and who had made application to make such redeposit prior to the
enactment of this Act, shall be permitted to redeposit his accumu-
lated contributions, with interest to the date of his original applica-
tion for such redeposit. His current membership and status in the
respective system shall not be affected by such redeposit.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 492 of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Podiatry," to amend the defini-
tion of "podiatry".
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 492 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Podiatry," be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
492.
Podiatry as denned by this subtitle is the diagnosis, surgical,
medical or mechanical treatment of all ailments of the human foot
[. The term "surgical treatment" is denned for the purposes of this
subtitle as limited to the cutting or surgery performed on the soft
tissues of the foot, superficial to the deep fascia, and to the toes ;] ,
with BONE AND JOINT SURGERY POSTERIOR TO THE BASES
OF THE METATARSALS, the amputation of a toe or toes and the
use of an anesthetic, other than local, prohibited.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
