amount paid to it for said system for the purchase or redemption
of any bonds or debt which may be outstanding against the same.
The district shall not purchase any existing water mains, sewers
or systems, in whole or in part, which are improperly constructed
or are not of sufficient capacity or were constructed without proper
authority from the State Department of Health since the passage
of the law requiring the same.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

(Senate Bill 624)
AN ACT to add new Section 654 (e) to Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health,"
subtitle "Sanitary Districts," to follow immediately after Section
654 (d) thereof, to authorize sanitary commissions to issue re-
funding bonds for the purpose of refunding, paying or discharg-
ing all or part of outstanding bonds previously issued for con-
struction of water or sewerage facilities.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 654 (e) be and is hereby added to Article 43 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title
"Health," subtitle "Sanitary Districts," to follow immediately after
Section 654 (d) thereof, and to read as follows:
(e) The commission in any district is hereby authorized and em-
powered to issue bonds to refund, pay or discharge all or any part
of its outstanding bonds, notes or other evidences of indebtedness,
including interest thereon, issued to finance the acquisition or con-
struction of sewerage or water projects, including real property, or
any part of such facilities. The relevant provisions of this subtitle
pertaining to bonds shall be equally applicable in the authorization
and issuance of such refunding bonds, including their terms, rates
and other aspects thereof.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
