under Section [535(f) (1)] 535(e)(1), shall be retained in the De-
partment during good behavior and efficiency and may be dismissed
or removed, from the Department only for cause, in accordance with
rules, regulations, or orders to be prescribed by the Commissioner
for the government and discipline of members of the Department.
Nothing herein shall prevent the Commissioner from adopting rules
and regulations prescribing procedures for the suspension from
duty, with or without pay, of any members of the Department pend-
ing investigation or filing of disciplinary charges against him.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

AN ACT to legalize the 1967 Edition of the Charter and Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore City, being Article 4 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, edited by Carl N. Everstine.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the 1967 Edition of the Charter and Code of Public Local Laws
of Baltimore City, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, published under the direction of the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore and edited by Carl N. Everstine, is legalized.
The Code shall contain the Charter and all public local laws relating
to Baltimore City following the 1967 Regular Session of the General
Assembly of Maryland. It shall be deemed and taken in all the courts
of the State, by the justices of the peace and trial magistrates of
the State, and by all other public officials of the State and of its
several political subdivisions, to be evidence of the Charter and
Public Local Laws of Baltimore City, in effect at the time of com-
pletion.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That any Supplement to this
Code is similarly legalized and effective to contain changes in the
Charter and in the Public Local Laws of Baltimore City as of the
time of publication.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
