(Senate Bill 348)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 518 (a)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford County (1965 Edi-
tion, being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Harford County", subtitle "Taxes and County Treas-
urer", increasing the tax anticipation borrowing powers of the
Board of County Commissioners of Harford County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 518 (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford
County (1965 Edition, being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County", subtitle "Taxes and
County Treasurer", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

518.

(a) Whenever the amount of taxes collected or of the funds avail-
able from taxes collected shall be insufficient to meet current
expenses and current obligations of Harford County and, in the
opinion of the County Commissioners of Harford County, it shall be
necessary for the protection of the public credit and the health,
morals, welfare, or safety of the people of the County, the Board
of County Commissioners of Harford County shall be and they are
hereby authorized to borrow upon the faith and credit of said
county such sum or sums of money as in their discretion may be
necessary to pay such expenses or obligations; provided that the
total indebtedness incurred under this section shall never exceed
at any one time the sum of [two hundred thousand dollars
($200,000.00)] five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00).

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 236 (d)
and 237 (e) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965
Replacement Volume), title "Revenue and Taxes", subtitle "State
Department of Assessments and Taxation", amending the laws
concerning the compensation of assessors, assistant supervisors of
assessments, and supervisors of assessments, in order to make
provision for Calvert County concerning the amount to be levied
and paid for these purposes; and correcting an error therein.
