CHAPTER 456
(Senate Bill 269)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1949
Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Baltimore City", subtitle "Courts", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 230D and to follow immediately after
Section 230C thereof, as enacted by Chapter 18 of the Acts of the
first Special Session of 1964, creating an additional judgeship on
the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City and providing for the
manner of filling this judgeship.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 4 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter
(1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Baltimore City", subtitle "Courts", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 230D and to follow immediately after
Section 230C thereof, as enacted by Chapter 18 of the Acts of the
first Special Session of 1964, and to read as follows:

230D.

In addition to the present member ship of the Supreme Bench of
Baltimore City, there shall be an additional Associate Judge of said
court. Said Associate Judge shall be selected in the manner provided
by Section 5 of Article 4 of the Constitution of this State and there-
after such Judge shall be elected by the legal and qualified voters of
Baltimore City at the election to be held on Tuesday next after the
first Monday of November, 1968. The said Judge, when appointed or
when elected, shall be subject to all of the provisions of the Consti-
tution and laws relating to the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City
and several Judges thereof.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 457
(Senate Bill 271)

AN ACT to authorize the creation of a State debt, in the aggregate
amount of Fifty-one Thousand Dollars ($51,000.00), for the pur-
pose of aiding in the construction of jail facilities in Allegany
County, and providing generally for the issuance and sale of
certificates of indebtedness evidencing such loan.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed
to issue a State Loan, to be known as the "Allegany County Jail
Loan of 1967," in the aggregate amount of Fifty-one Thousand
Dollars ($51,000.00).
