(b) Wherever the City of Baltimore or any of the counties of
the State [shall] inaugurate a special program of instruction under
standards, rules and regulations of the State Board of Education,
to meet the needs of any child whose handicap is physical or mental
and whose needs are not met by ordinary school facilities, the city
or counties so providing the same shall [be entitled to] receive,
toward the cost of teachers, special equipment, nursing, therapeutic
treatment, and transportation, an amount not to exceed six hundred
dollars per child, to be paid by the State of Maryland out of a
special fund to be appropriated for such purpose in the State pub-
lic school budget. The State Superintendent of Schools shall ascer-
tain the respective amounts the City of Baltimore and the counties
shall [be so entitled to] receive from the State under this section,
and when such amounts are so ascertained the State Superintendent
of Schools shall certify the same to the State Comptroller.
(c) In the City of Baltimore or in any county in the State which
does not provide such special classes or special instruction for the
education of mentally or physically handicapped children, and such
mentally or physically handicapped children attend a school within
or outside of the State of Maryland providing appropriate instruc-
tion or receives appropriate special instruction approved by the
State Board of Education, the board of education in the City of Bal-
timore or county in which the parents of such child resides, provided
such parents have been bona fide residents of the State of Maryland
for more than one year, [shall] will be reimbursed by the State
of Maryland in an amount not to exceed six hundred dollars
($600.00) for each such mentally or physically handicapped child
each school year through the appropriated funds in the public school
budget to assist in paying the tuition and/or fees incident to the in-
struction of each said handicapped child.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1966 1967.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47-1 , of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1963
Edition) being also Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Prince George's County," subtitle "Juvenile
Causes" relating generally to the salary of the Masters of Juvenile
Causes in Prince George's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47-1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1963 Edition) being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County," subtitle "Juvenile
Causes" be and is hereby repealed, and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
