Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

(House Bill 805)
AN ACT to add a new Section 45 to Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), title
Corporation—Municipal," subtitle "Home Rule," to follow
immediately after Section 44 thereof and to be under the new
subheading "Discrimination by Sex or Literacy," providing that
a municipal corporation subject to Article HE of the Constitution
shall not impose certain requirements, distinctions or discrimina-
tory provisions concerning voting, and relating to either sex or
literacy, and that it shall not impose any distinction or discrimina-
tory provision based upon sex and having to do with the right
to hold a municipal public office.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 45 be and it is hereby added to Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supple-
ment), title "Corporations—Municipal," subtitle "Home Rule," to
follow immediately after Section 44 thereof, to be under the new sub-
heading "Discrimination by Sex or Literacy," and to read as follows:
Discrimination by Sex or Literacy

A municipal corporation subject to Article 11E of the Constitu-
tion, whether through its charter or otherwise, shall not impose any
requirement, distinction, or discriminatory provision in municipal
elections which is based upon or in any way related to the sex or
literacy of the voter; and it shall not impose any distinction or
discriminatory provision based upon the sex of an individual and
having to do with the right to hold a municipal public office.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

(House Bill 926)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 116(a)
of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supple-
ment), title "Courts," subtitle "Municipal Court of Baltimore
City," granting to the judges of the Municipal Court power to
quash certain warrants issued but unserved.
