CHAPTER 379
(House Bill 77)

AN ACT to add new Sections 50A to 50K, inclusive, to Article 78
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume),
title "Public Service Commission Law," subtitle "Public Service
Companies," subheading "Carrier Companies," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 50 thereof and to be under the new subheading
"Taxicab Drivers of Baltimore City Taxicabs," to provide for
the licensing and regulation of taxicab drivers of Baltimore City
Taxicabs by the Public Service Commission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 50A to 50K, inclusive, be and they are hereby
added to Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Re-
placement Volume), title "Public Service Commission Law," subtitle
"Public Service Companies," subheading "Carrier Companies," to
follow immediately after Section 50 thereof, and to be under the new
subheading "Taxicab Drivers of Baltimore City Taxicabs," and to
read as follows:

Taxicab Drivers of Baltimore City Taxicabs
50 A.

Application for taxicab driver's license must be filed with the
Public Service Commission. Such application shall be on a form
provided or prescribed by the Commission and all information re-
quired by the form must be completed.

50B.

Each applicant for a driver's license must file with the application
two recent photographs, of a size which may be easily attached to
the license, one of which shall be attached to the license when issued,
and the other shall be filed with the application in the Public Service
Commission office. Each applicant for a driver's license shall be
fingerprinted.

50C.

Upon satisfactory fulfillment of all requirements there shall be is-
sued to the applicant a taxicab driver's license which shall be in such
form as the Public Service Commission may direct and which shall
at all times be in the driver's possession when operating a taxicab.
Any licensee who defaces, removes or obliterates any official entry
made upon the taxicab driver's license shall be punished by the
suspension or revocation of the license as hereinafter provided.

50D.

There shall be delivered to each licensed driver a badge of such
form and style as the Public Service Commission may prescribe,
with the taxicab driver license number thereon, which must be con-
stantly and conspicuously displayed on the outside of the driver's
coat when engaged in operating a taxicab.
