CHAPTER 36
(Senate Bill 142)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 97 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1963 Edition,
being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Allegany County", subtitle "County Treasurer", to require
auditors of the Circuit Court of Allegany County to adjust taxes
and other public charges on a fiscal year basis in all judicial sales
of real and personal property located in Allegany County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 97 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County
(1963 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Allegany County", subtitle "County Treasurer", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

97. Whenever a sale of either real or personal property located
in Allegany County shall be made by any trustee, receiver, mortgagee,
sheriff, constable, executor, administrator or other ministerial officer
under judicial process or otherwise, all State, County and municipal
taxes and water rents for the [calendar] fiscal year in which said
sale has been made shall be adjusted between the vendor and the
vendee as of the date of said sale, and the vendor shall pay and be
responsible for that portion of the same which shall be accrued in
that part of the [calendar] fiscal year preceding the date of said
sale, and the vendee shall be responsible for and shall pay that por-
tion of the same accruing for that portion of the [calendar] fiscal
year subsequent to the date of said sale. In all public advertisements
of said property, there shall be incorporated therein a statement to
the effect that all State, County and municipal taxes and water rents
for the [calendar] fiscal year shall be adjusted as of the day of sale.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 37
(Senate Bill 105)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (q)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and
Duties," to change the salary of the Sheriff of Queen Anne's County
and the salaries of the various deputy sheriffs for the county and
to provide for additional allowances for the Sheriff for the opera-
tion of the county jail.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (q) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compen-
sation and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
