repealed and that new Section 40 (x) be and it is hereby enacted in
lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section repealed, and to
read as follows:

40.

(x) In Worcester County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is
eight thousand dollars ($8,000.00) to be paid in equal monthly install-
ments and the County Commissioners shall pay the other reasonable
expenses of his office, including reasonable rent.
PROVIDE HIM
WITH SUITABLE OFFICE SPACE IN THE COURT HOUSE.

(2)  The State's Attorney's allowance for clerical expenses is one
thousand dollars ($1,000.00); and his allowance for secretarial serv-
ices is three thousand dollars ($3,000.00). These are also to be paid
in equal monthly installments.

(3)  Subject to the approval of the resident judge of the Circuit
Court, the State's Attorney may appoint a member of the bar of
Worcester County as deputy State's Attorney, to serve at the
pleasure of the State's Attorney. The deputy State's Attorney's salary
is
SHALL NOT EXCEED thirty-six hundred dollars ($3,600.00). to
be paid in equal monthly installments. Under the direction of the
State's Attorney, the deputy State's Attorney shall present cases to
the grand jury and perform such other acts and duties in relation
to the grand jury and in the operation of the office as are necessary
and proper.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act are to become effective beginning the first Monday of January,
1967.

(Senate Bill 185)

AN ACT to add new Sections 303A to 303E, inclusive, to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being
Article IV of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Baltimore City", to follow immediately after Section 303 thereof
and to be under the new subtitle "Administrative Office of the
Supreme Bench", creating the position of administrative office of
the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, providing for the appoint-
ment and powers and duties of the administrator of this office,
including those as Clerk of the Supreme Bench under Article 4,
Section 38 of the Constitution of Maryland, relating to the opera-
tions of the office and the powers of the Supreme Bench in rela-
tionship thereof, and relating generally to the administrative office
of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City and to its powers, duties,
functions and operations under the Supreme Bench.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 303A to 303E, inclusive, be and they are hereby
added to the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949
