Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 43 (g) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 EDITION 1965 Supplement), title "Elections," subtitle
"Cancellation of Registration," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

43.

REPORT TO THE BOARDS

(g) Notification to show cause before cancellation.—Whenever
the death, conviction of infamous crime, name changed by marriage,
name changed by decree, or in Prince George's County, a change in
address to outside said County, of any registered voter is reported
OF ANY REGISTERED VOTER IS REPORTED as above provided,
the Board of Supervisors of Elections shall cause to be mailed to the
address of such voter, as it appears on the registration books or
records, a notification that such death, or conviction of infamous
crime, or name changed by marriage, or name changed by decree, or
IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, A change of address TO OUT-
SIDE SAID COUNTY, has been reported to the board, and requiring
the voter to show cause wife WITHIN two weeks after the mailing of
such notification why his registration should not be cancelled. When-
ever the supervisors have actual knowledge of the death of any regis-
tered voter and file in their office a sworn statement to that effect, it
shall not be necessary so to mail such notice to the address of the voter,
and his registration may be forthwith cancelled as hereinafter pro-
vided, by erasing his name from the registry, or in counties having
a system of permanent registration and in Baltimore City, by remov-
ing the registration cards or forms of the voter from the original
and duplicate files and placing the same in a transfer file.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 1163)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1 of
Article 68 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supplement,
as amended by Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1966), title "Notaries
Public," amending the laws concerning residence requirements
for those notaries public who are appointed as official court re-
porters by any court of the Seventh Judicial Circuit comprising
the circuit courts in the counties of Calvert, Charles, Prince
George's and St. Mary's.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Article 68 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
