1965 Supplement), to follow immediately after Section 261A
thereof, providing for conducting certain games of bingo or raffles
in Allegany County and relating to the organizations which may
conduct such games, providing for the procedure for these games
and consolidating in one place certain laws of Allegany County
having to do with such games.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 247 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments", subtitle
"Gaming", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments; and that new Section 26IB be and it is hereby added to said
article and subtitle (1957 Edition and 1965 Supplement), to follow
immediately after Section 261A thereof, all to read as follows:

247.

Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to make it unlawful
for any bona fide fraternal, religious, or charitable organizations or
corporations, or volunteer fire company operating in communities
which have no paid fire department, to conduct or operate a game of
bingo for the benefit of charity in [Allegany,] Anne Arundel, Queen
Anne's or Kent counties, or in furtherance of the purposes of such
organizations, corporations or volunteer fire department, and in Kent
County, any bona fide war veterans' organization shall also be in-
cluded in the provisions of this section.

261B.

(a)  Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to make it unlawful
for the following organizations to conduct in Allegany County games
of bingo or raffles:

(1)  A tax supported volunteer fire company or auxiliary unit of
which the members thereof are directly associated with the fire
company.

(2)  A nationally chartered veterans' organization or auxiliary
unit of which the members thereof are directly associated with the
organization.

(3)  A bona fide religious group which has conducted religious
services at a fixed location in Allegany County for a period of at
least three (3) years prior to the application for a license.

(4) A nonprofit organization desiring to raise money for an ex-
clusively charitable, athletic or educational purpose specifically de-
scribed in the application.

(b)  Nothing herein shall be construed to authorize slot machines
, PUNCH BOARDS, TIP BOARDS, or any type of coin machines to
be used for gambling purposes.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
