Sec. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

AN ACT to add new Sections 365 to 374, inclusive, to Article 41 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Supple-
ment), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Depart-
ments," to follow immediately after Section 364 thereof, and to be
under the new subtitle "33. St. Mary's City Commission," creating
the St. Mary's City Commission for the purposes of preserving,
developing, and maintaining historic St. Mary's City; providing
for the membership, powers, and duties of this Commission; im-
posing certain duties upon the Governor of Maryland and upon
certain other agencies of the State of Maryland as part of the
Commission's work; providing for the operations, organization,
functions, officers, employees, and funds of the St. Mary's City
Commission; to modify Chapter 487 of the Acts of 1931 and
Chapter 344 of the Acts of 1933; to abolish all other power com-
missions or agencies established with respect to the so-called State
House Replica property and premises at St. Mary's City, including
the Maryland Tercentenary Memorial Commission; to transfer the
so-called State House Replica property and premises at St. Mary's
City, together with all real and personal property appertaining
thereto and all credits and appropriations for the care and custody
thereof, to the St. Mary's City Commission; and relating generally
to the St. Mary's City Commission, and to the preservation, devel-
opment, and maintenance of historic St. Mary's City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 365 to 374, inclusive, be and they are hereby added
to Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1965 Supplement), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments," to follow immediately after Section 364 thereof,
and to be under the new subtitle "33. St. Mary's City Commission,"
and to read as follows:
St. Mary's City Commission
365. Creation; generally.
The St. Mary's City Commission is created for the purposes of
preserving, developing, and maintaining historic St. Mary's City,
and with the membership, powers, and duties here provided.
366. Purpose declared to be of general benefit; corporate body with
perpetual existence.
The purposes of the St. Mary's City Commission are declared to
be for the general benefit of the citizens of the State of Maryland and
