Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 202(1)
of Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Chancery," subtitle "Uniform Absent Persons' Act," to en-
large the scope of the Uniform Absent Persons' Act to include the
disposition of property located in Maryland of persons non-
resident of the State under this Act.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 202(1) of Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Chancery," subtitle "Uniform Absent
Persons' Act," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
202.
(1) When a person [domiciled in this State and] OR having an
interest in any form of property located in this State disappears
and is absent from his place of residence without being heard of
after diligent inquiry, upon application for a finding of such disap-
pearance and absence and of the necessity for the appointment of a
receiver to the circuit court [where the absentee was domiciled] OR
of the county wherein the property is located by any person who
would have an interest in said property were said absentee deceased
or by an insurer or surety or creditor of such absentee, after notice
as hereinafter provided in Section 203, and upon good cause being
shown the court may find that he was last heard of as of a date
certain and may appoint a receiver to take charge of his estate.
The absentee shall be made a party to said proceedings; and any
other person who would have an interest in said property were said
absentee deceased upon direction by the court may be made parties
to said proceeding.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.
