LECT OR DEFAULT OF A VESSEL, SUIT MAY BE BROUGHT
IN REM AGAINST SAID VESSEL IN ANY COURT OF COMPE-
TENT JURISDICTION; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT ANY
SUCH ACTION AGAINST THE EXECUTOR OR ADMINISTRA-
TOR OF THE SAID PERSON WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN LI-
ABLE SHALL BE COMMENCED WITHIN SIX CALENDAR
MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF THE QUALIFICATION OF
THE EXECUTOR OR ADMINISTRATOR OF THE SAID PERSON
WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN LIABLE UNLESS SUCH SUIT
SHALL BE BROUGHT AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 112 OF AR-
TICLE 93 OF THIS CODE.
Sec. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

AN ACT to add new Section 205A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Harford County (1965 Edition, being Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section 205
thereof, creating AUTHORIZING AND EMPOWERING THE
CREATION OF the office of County Solicitor for Harford County,
setting forth the duties thereof, providing that certain legal busi-
ness of the county shall be exclusively conducted by the County
Solicitor, establishing a maximum salary for the County Solicitor
AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF A SALARY, the method for
appointment and removal thereof OF THE COUNTY SOLICITOR,
and generally relating to the office of a County Solicitor for Har-
ford County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 205A be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Harford County (1965 Edition, being Article 13 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County,"
subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 205 thereof, and to read as follows:
205A.
(a) The County Commissioners of Harford County ARE HERE-
BY AUTHORIZED AND EMPOWERED TO appoint a County
Solicitor. The County Solicitor shall be the legal advisor of the County
and SUCH of its several offices, departments, boards, commissions,
and other agencies AS SHALL BE DESIGNATED BY THE COUN-
TY COMMISSIONERS. From the date of the appointment of the
County Solicitor, no office, department, board, commission, or other
agency, or any branch of the County government shall have any au-
thority or power to employ or retain any legal counsel other than
the County Solicitor, UNLESS SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZED
BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONER.
