heretofore vested in them for the improvement of roads in Queen
Anne's County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to add new Sections 471 and 472 to Article 6 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline
County", to immediately precede Section 472A thereof, as added
by Chapter 364 of the Acts of 1953, and to be under the new sub-
title "Recreation and Parks", to create a Board of Recreation and
Parks in Caroline County, to provide for its members, their powers
and duties, to provide for programs of public recreation and parks
in the county, to authorize the Board to appoint beautification,
cleanup and conservation committees and to define their powers
and duties.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 471 and 472 be and they are hereby added to
Article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Caroline County", to immediately precede Section
472A thereof, as added by Chapter 364 of the Acts of 1953, to be
under the new sub-title "Recreation and Parks", and all to read as
follows:
Recreation and Parks
471.
(a) The County Commissioners of Caroline County are hereby
authorized to establish a Board of Recreation and Parks with powers
and duties hereinafter specified.
(b) The Board shall consist of seven members, appointed by the
County Commissioners, of whom one shall be first recommended by
the County Board of Education from, its membership or otherwise,
and one of whom shall be a member of the Board of County Com-
missioners. All members of the Board, except the County Commis-
sioner member who shall serve for his elected term of office, shall
be appointed for four years from the first day of January of the
year of their appointments or until their successors are appointed.
The members of the Board, other than the County Commissioner
member, when first appointed, shall be divided into three classes.
The initial terms of those in the first class shall be for four years;
of those in the second class, three years; and of those in the third
class, two years. Vacancies, except those at the expiration of a term,
